Apple will add two R & D centers in China with an investment of more than 3.5 billion yuan
Apple CEO Tim Cook said at the China Development Forum held in Beijing recently that Apple will build two more R & D centers in Shanghai and Suzhou after Beijing and Shenzhen
the California based company promised to invest 3.5 billion yuan in these centers to attract graduates from China's top universities, including Peking University, Tsinghua University and Shanghai Jiaotong University
Apple's efforts to expand its business in China show that China is no longer just a huge consumer market, but also an integral part of Apple's global R & D community
according to Dan Riccio, senior vice president of hardware engineering at Apple, by expanding its R & D activities in China, the company hopes to cooperate with more local partners and academic institutions in China
in 2014, Shanghai decided to turn the city into a global R & D center, and foreign enterprises also prefer to establish R & D centers in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province
